I do.
At one time, this stunning Grade 2* Listed Georgian property was believed to be the largest rectory in England. Situated in the peaceful picturesque village of Symondsbury, it is a beautiful wedding venue offering bespoke, intimate weddings all year round.
The Old Rectory encapsulates a “hygge” ambience of quiet comfort through its tasteful décor and furnishings. The gentle combination of rustic leathers, textural rugs on old wooden floorboards, moody lamps and carefully chosen colours and wallpapers; all design elements that thoughtfully enhance the original features of the 300 year old house, as well and breathing new life, love and pops of interest.
This style flows throughout the property in the eleven spacious bedrooms, halls and reception rooms. The bedrooms sleep 22 comfortably (or up to 31 with daybeds/trundles - strictly children only - in 5 of the rooms). The vast space within of the house allow the bride and groom’s parties to get ready separately before the ceremony begins.
The house has two fully equipped kitchens, spacious dining room seating up to 32 guests and welcoming sitting room. There is also a striking library/games room and beautiful arched halls leading out to the veranda.
The gardens are well tended and provide ample space for garden games and picnics. There's a gorgeous period veranda taking in views over patchwork fields - perfect for post-ceremony drinks in the midday sun.
Inside and out, there's plenty of space to kick-back, relax and enjoy this beautifully unspoilt corner of Dorset. There is much to explore in the village; wonderful pub, farm shop, café, gallery and much more - as well as the Jurassic coast and buzzing market town both less than 2 miles away. The team at the Old Rectory will help you create a bespoke small wedding experience bringing your ideal wedding day to life.
